Ling's Oriental Martial Arts Code of Conduct:1. Respect your teacher, fellow students, family, yourself and others. Bow when entering or exiting the mat. Bow to your teacher and training partners as a show of respect.
2. Remove and stow your street shoes when entering the dojo. 3. Arrive on time, clean and free of smoke or other fragrances. Nails should be trimmed, long hair tied back and no excessive jewelry. Notify your teacher if you need to arrive late or leave early. 4. Train in a clean, pressed uniform or a school logo t-shirt with long black athletic pants. 5. Turn off or silence cell phones and other digital devices during class. 6. No one may be under the influence of any altering substances of any type during class. 7. Any weapons brought into the dojo must be presented to your teacher for inspection and approval. 8. Know your personal limits and do not train beyond them. Ask for modifications or do not participate if you have any questions or are not able to do so safely. Consult your healthcare provider before beginning martial arts training. 9. Bring tenacity, resilience, and positivity to your training. Only with regular, diligent practice and a positive outlook will you progress in both skills and knowledge. 10. Carry yourself and represent our school with honor, peace, dignity, humility, and compassion for others. |
